Tremont Celebrates “Read Across America”

This has been a very exciting week for the students at Tremont Attendance Center.  Kindergarten through Third Grade has celebrated “Read Across America” which honors the birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel better known as “Dr. Seuss”.  Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Each day students were honored to have different people come and read a Dr. Seuss book. They were also able to dress according the book that was being read each day.

Monday - (pajama day), Mrs. Tina Sparks read “The Sleep Book”.

Tuesday - (hat day), Mr. Ramey read “Oh the Places You’ll Go”.  He encouraged students about the importance of being “good readers” and obtaining an education which is necessary in any field you choose to pursue in life.

Wednesday -  (dress wacky), “Wacky Wednesday” was read by Mrs. Rogers.  Students had cake and punch in honor of the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

Thursday - (wear crazy socks), Mrs. Hunter read “Fox in Socks”.

Friday - Coach Pearson and Coach Crawford read “Green Eggs and Ham” and afterwards students in K-3 enjoyed a breakfast of green eggs and ham.  Students were able to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character.
