On Monday, February 9th sports journalist, Brandon Speck, came to Tremont to guest speak to Coach Pearson’s Broadcast Journalism students.  Speck currently works with Northeast MS Daily experiences in his field of work.  The students seemed to enjoy when he told detailed stories about his past experiences in dealing with coaches, players, fans, etc.  One thing that seemed to surprise the students a bit was when he shared with them how quickly he has to meet deadlines with his articles.  Speck told the students some of the skills that he believes are necessary when working in his field of work.  Before leaving, Speck even got the students together for a group selfie, which he later tweeted and posted to his Instagram.  He also made a promise to some of the students to include a phrase they like in one of his upcoming articles.  Tremont junior, Madi Rogers had this to say about Speck’s visit with her class, “I liked hearing about his career and I was surprised by the time and effort it takes to be a sports journalist."
